I’m not against the idea of cover/tribiute bands/artists. Sometimes one discovers the original/finds a new facet through their interpretation; but sometimes ones asks himself why the artists didn’t do their own thing because there is clearly enough talent and ideas there, which end up as small vignettes peppered on top of the generally renowned work they are interpreting.
Were they already burned and are contempt in steering a bit off the known path?

Sometimes cover/tribiute bands/artist freak me
out because they have that one component that evokes the feeling of the original, but the rest is off and it’s like witnessing the original through a fewer dream filter.

I recently worked at an Elvis themed show for the Nth time, but i’m always looking forward to the Viva Las Vegas part; where the clip from the movie is being projected on a screen while the reenactment happens on stage.
And that clip always makes me laugh, and i’m probably thinking this because i’m jealous of the King, but it looks like his bladder is filled over capacity or he’s doing his best to power through a stroke.

Anyway, VIVA LAS VEGAS!
